What We Do

Safe Zone is a group of Christian volunteers who want to show the people of Bangor the love of Jesus in a practical way.

We want to meet people where they are, at their point of need.

Safe Zone aims to provide a visible presence on weekend evenings to support the Weekend Evening Economy by being accessible to all the pubs, clubs, and members of the community regardless of religion, race, gender, age or sexual orientation.

We aim to provide a resource to reduce and, when possible, prevent violent alcohol or drug influenced crime.

We aim to build a shared vision for a safer and more secure town centre. We also aim to provide ‘point of need’ pastoral support and advice for the public.

As well as this, we will provide first aid cover for the town centre and through a highly visible presence observe and intervene in situations to diffuse potential violence and therefore help to create a safer, more friendly environment for the community to enjoy.
